Account & Data Deletion
Last Updated: August 29, 2026
Librainian is a library management platform operated by Pinak Venture. We respect your privacy and provide a controlled process for deleting eligible account and personal data.
This page explains what data is deleted, what information may be retained, how the deletion process works, and what happens to data maintained by third-party service providers.
1. Who Can Delete an Account?
Librainian accounts are created and managed by the Library Owner.
Students do not independently create or delete their Librainian accounts. Therefore, a student cannot initiate account deletion directly.
A Library Owner can initiate deletion of an eligible account through the Librainian application.
2. How to Delete an Account
Account deletion can only be initiated from within the authenticated Librainian application.
To initiate deletion:
You must be authenticated and authorized to perform the deletion.
For security purposes, you will be required to complete the applicable verification, including email/OTP confirmation, before the deletion process begins.
We do not currently provide a public web-based account deletion form.
If you are unable to access your account or require assistance, please contact us through the Help & Support section available within the Librainian app/web application, or email us at:
3. Deletion Processing Period
Account deletion is not necessarily instantaneous.
Once a valid deletion request has been verified, Librainian may take up to 7 days to complete the deletion process.
A deletion request reference ID is displayed within the application so that the request can be identified during the processing period.
A deletion request cannot be cancelled once the deletion process has been initiated.
You will receive confirmation by email once the deletion process has been completed.
4. What Data Is Deleted?
Subject to the retention exceptions described below, the following information associated with the account may be permanently deleted during the account deletion process:
- Profile information
- Profile photograph
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Address
- Location information
- Attendance records
- Seat and allocation data
- Uploaded documents
- Saved application data
- Test/history data
- Certificates
- Other account-associated application data that is not required to be retained for legal, financial, security, fraud-prevention, or audit purposes
Where applicable, individually uploaded images may also be deleted without requiring complete account deletion.
Deletion of the above information is generally completed within the 7-day processing period.
5. Name, Email Address and Phone Number
The retention of basic identity information depends on whether the account has ever been associated with a payment.
Unpaid accounts
If no payment has ever been made in connection with the account, the user’s:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
will be deleted as part of the account deletion process, subject to any information that must temporarily remain available for security or operational purposes.
Accounts associated with payments
If a payment has been made in connection with the account, certain identifying information may be retained permanently because it is associated with financial, transaction, accounting, audit, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate business records.
This means that deleting an account does not necessarily mean that every historical record containing the user’s name, email address, or phone number will be removed.
6. Payment and Financial Records
Librainian uses Cashfree as a payment service provider.
Librainian does not store users’ complete card or bank account details. Payment records may contain transaction or reference identifiers and information necessary to maintain financial and transaction records.
The following information may be retained permanently where associated with a completed or attempted financial transaction:
- Payment/reference ID
- Transaction information
- Invoice information
- Payment amount
- Payment date
- Subscription information
- Payment status
- Other records reasonably required for financial, accounting, tax, audit, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes
These records are not deleted merely because the associated Librainian account is deleted.
7. Subscriptions and Memberships
Deleting an account results in the immediate termination of the associated subscription or membership.
Any remaining subscription access, credits, benefits, or other account-based entitlements may be lost when the account is deleted.
Refunds
Account deletion does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
Any refund will be handled according to our applicable refund policy and the terms applicable to the relevant transaction.
8. Backups
Deleted information may continue to exist temporarily in system backups.
Librainian’s backups may retain deleted information for up to 90 days as part of normal backup and disaster-recovery processes.
Backup copies are not used to restore a deleted account except where required for legitimate operational, security, disaster-recovery, or legal purposes.
Once the applicable backup retention period expires, the relevant deleted information will be removed through the normal backup lifecycle.
9. Security, Fraud and Audit Records
Certain records may be retained temporarily after account deletion where necessary for:
- Security monitoring
- Fraud prevention
- Abuse prevention
- Investigation of suspicious activity
- System integrity
- Audit purposes
- Resolving disputes or incidents
Such security, fraud, and audit records may be retained for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements.
Where a record is required to be retained for a longer period by law or for a legitimate legal or financial purpose, the applicable retention requirement will take precedence.
10. Third-Party Services
Librainian uses certain third-party services to provide, operate, secure, and improve its services.
These may include services such as:
- Google Sign-In
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Analytics
- Cashfree
- Cloudflare
- Email service providers
- Other infrastructure or service providers required to operate Librainian
Certain information may continue to be retained by third-party service providers in accordance with their respective policies, contractual obligations, security requirements, and applicable legal requirements.
Librainian does not directly control the independent retention and deletion policies of these third-party providers.
11. Google Sign-In and Authentication
Librainian supports email/password authentication and Google Sign-In.
When an account is deleted through Librainian, the associated Librainian authentication account is also deleted as part of the account deletion process.
Information maintained by Google or other third-party providers as part of their own services is governed by their respective policies and account controls.
Users who wish to manage information held directly by Google should use the privacy and account-management controls provided by Google.
12. Data That May Be Retained After Deletion
Account deletion does not necessarily result in the deletion of every record associated with the user.
Information may be retained where it is necessary for:
- Financial and accounting records
- Tax or statutory requirements
- Payment and transaction verification
- Fraud prevention
- Security investigations
- Audit requirements
- Legal claims or disputes
- Compliance with applicable law
- Protection of Librainian, Pinak Venture, or other users
Where retention is necessary, we retain only the information reasonably required for the applicable purpose.
13. What You Lose When Your Account Is Deleted
After account deletion, you may permanently lose access to:
- Your Librainian account
- Library membership information
- Subscription and membership benefits
- Remaining credits or entitlements
- Saved application data
- Attendance information
- Seat/allocation information
- Test and activity history
- Certificates
- Uploaded documents and images
- Other account-associated information
Deleted application data may not be recoverable.
14. Can Individual Data Be Deleted?
Certain user-uploaded images may be deleted individually where the relevant feature is available.
However, Librainian does not currently provide a general-purpose facility for users to independently request deletion of arbitrary individual categories of account data.
For complete account deletion, the account deletion process described on this page applies.
15. What If You Cannot Access Your Account?
For security reasons, account deletion must be initiated by an authenticated and authorized Library Owner.
Librainian does not process account deletion requests submitted by an unauthenticated person on behalf of another user.
If you are experiencing an access or technical problem, contact us through the Help & Support section in the Librainian app/web application or email:
Our support team may ask you to complete appropriate verification before assisting with an account-related request.
16. Deletion Confirmation
After the deletion process has been completed, Librainian will send a confirmation email to the relevant registered email address where available.
The deletion request reference ID displayed in the application can be used to identify the deletion request during processing.
17. Important Note About Complete Data Removal
Account deletion removes eligible information from Librainian’s active systems according to the deletion process described above.
However, information may remain temporarily in backups or may be retained where required for financial, legal, security, fraud-prevention, audit, or other legitimate purposes.
Information held independently by third-party service providers may also be subject to those providers’ own retention and deletion policies.
Accordingly, account deletion should not be interpreted as an immediate deletion of every copy of every record from every system or third-party service.
